At the heart of Senegal's health sovereignty policy objectives, an ambitious vaccine hub project is beginning to take shape in Diamniadio, on the outskirts of Dakar. Primary objective: to produce vaccines against Covid-19, but also against other diseases for populations across the continent. Four major facilities built on 3.3 hectares.

Ultimately, 300 million doses of anti-Covid vaccine will be able to be produced annually. A project with a total value of 200 million euros. Various financial partners, French, German, and American cooperation, as well as the European Investment Bank are participating in this ambitious project.
After an initial donation of 5 million euros, the vice-president of the EIB announced in Dakar last week a concessional loan of 75 million euros to accelerate its implementation.
